In the setting of your PC does not allow the execution of an automated installer, you can install BEAM-REPORT manually from the downloaded installation kit. All files mentioned here below are to be extracted from the previously downloaded .ZIP file.
Proceed as follows :
- Create an installation folder for the BEAM-REPORT files. It may be for instance "C:Program FilesBeamReport", or any local or network directory on which you are granted a write access.
- Copy to this folder the following files :
- "BeamReport.exe", the main executable file (with English version of user interface)
- "BeamReport.FRA", if you wish to use also the French version
- "BeamReport.ITA", if you wish to use also the Italian version
- "BeamReport.DEU", if you wish to use also the German version
- "BeamReport_UM_*.RTF", the user manuals in various languages.
- Unless you already have a customized key file, copy to the same folder the key file "BeamReport_key.txt" (demo version)
- If you wish to enable the spelling-checker, create on the same folder a sub-folder "Dictionaries", and copy there all files *.adm et *.adt.
- Create a folder for the sample files. It can be for instance "C:Program FilesBeamReportSamples" or any local or network folder on which you are granted a write access. Then copy to this folder all files *.bcx et *.brx.
- Create a shortcut on your desktop and/or your Startup menu, referring to "BeamReport.exe". In property "Startup in", you can specify the folder on which you have installed the sample files, or any existing directory where you intend to store your BEAM-REPORT documents.
- Creation of the File Extensions : with the Windows Explorer (menu Tools/Folder Options, sheet "File types"), create 2 file types as follows :
- ".brx", Beam-Report document, to be Opened by "BeamReport.exe"
- ".bcx", Beam-Report Standard, to be Opened by "BeamReport.exe"
Note: When installing on a shared network directory, the 2 last steps above must be executed on each concerned client workstation.
